On the morning of January 19, 2022, CLA held a press conference on the Cultural Season at the Institut Fran បារាំងais. The cultural season program will take place from February to March 2023.
The 2023 Cultural Season will be held under the theme "Alone, Only Us" in order to introduce viewers to the relationship between individuals, norms and pressures in society, and the impact on expression as well as creativity. During the press conference, CLA announced the purpose of organizing the 2023 cultural season in the presence of speakers Soy Chanborey, Thorn Seima, Director of the French Institute Valentin, and Ms. Oeun Rosa, as well as many artists and members of the public.
Ms. Roza, an actress and a lover of arts and culture, has joined in supporting the cultural season as an ambassador for the 2023 cultural season. "I don't think most of us know or see this kind of drama," he said. It is a genre of theater that is rare and almost extinct but has also been collected and re-established by CLA and many of our classical artists. Guaranteed to be everyone's new food! ” She called on the audience not to forget to join the crowd on the 3rd and 4th of February 2023 for the performance of the traditional theater Kien Svay Krao, which is the opening performance in the program.
The Cultural Season program has been running every year since 2018, which aims to promote the expression and creativity of young people, especially university students, through performances, workshops, exhibitions, and discussions. In 2023, the cultural season program will start performing in Phnom Penh from February to March 2023 at four different venues, including the French Institute of Cambodia, the National University of Management, Friends Future Factory, and the Acting Academy.
Not only that, all the performing arts programs will be held at the newly built stage of the Institut Fran បារាំងais Cambodia, which the institute has initiated in order to facilitate the local art community. It should be noted that the cultural season program will also have ticket sales for spectators who want to visit. The first work to be performed in this year's cultural season is the traditional play "Kien Svay Krao" performed on 3-4 February 2023 at the Institut Fran បារាំងais. Audiences who purchase tickets will be able to contribute to the support of the artists as well as help to promote the Khmer cultural art form to spread even more.
